Rapper, actor, and businessman 50 Cent was born in the United States on July 6, 1975. He rose to fame as the unofficial captain of the East Coast hip-hop group G-Unit. 50 Cent has garnered multiple awards and has sold more than 30 million albums globally.

As an actor, he appeared in the motion pictures Get Rich or Die Tryin’ (2005), Home of the Brave (2006), and the crime thriller Righteous Kill (2008). After his mother passed away, 50 Cent was raised by his grandparents. At the age of 11, he began rapping.

He was imprisoned in 1994 on suspicion of distributing cocaine to a police officer conducting undercover operations. Jackson, who was given a sentence of three to nine years in prison, finished a six-month stint in boot camp and obtained his GED. Onyx’s 1998 album Shut ‘Em Down featured the song “React,” where he made his musical debut.

Jackson wrote “How to Rob” while on his way to a recording studio, which became a hit underground track. Two days before the start of the “Thug Love” music video, Jackson was shot and brought to the hospital. Darryl Baum, the bodyguard for Mike Tyson, died three weeks after the claimed assault.

In 2000, 50 Cent was shot outside the Queens, New York, home of his grandmother. His legs were fractured in several places, and he was in the hospital for 13 days. According to Billboard, Darryl Baum allegedly shot 50 Cent.
