The Earth itself will forget, but humanity will? The Earth has been around for 4.6 billion years, whereas humanity has only been around for just more than 2 million. And, even though humans have only been around for a brief time, we have had an impact on our planet. Our species has probably altered the Earth to the point where it is no longer recognizable.
The First Man on Earth
Everyone who starts to explore the world, asks a question: “Who was the first person on earth”? God created Adam as the first human being, who was the first person on earth. He was a real guy, made in God’s image. Mankind was given control over the entire earth through Adam. But, because Adam sinned and disobeyed God, sin entered the earth. Regardless, Adam became the father of the human race and foreshadowed Jesus.
The narrative of Adam is important to us as Christians because it teaches us about our origins, who we are as humans, and God’s character. It explains how God’s plan for redemption began long before he sent Jesus when he formed the human race.
Who Was Adam?
Adam was a real, literal guy, and his tale may be found in Genesis 1-5. He was the first human being ever created, and he was made in God’s likeness.
Adam was also the first earth steward and the father of the human race.
Adam plays a significant part in the Bible, not only because he was the first person to ever live, but also because his life and fall into sin foretell the need for a savior and the arrival of the Second Adam, who is revealed to us as Jesus Christ.
Understanding who Adam is allows us to better grasp God’s nature and his intention to save the entire world through his Son.
Despite the fallenness of this world as a result of Adam’s transgression, his story is about Jesus’ redemptive power and how He completed all for us that Adam couldn’t.
How Was Adam Created?
On the sixth day after God created the heavens and the earth, he created the first man. He was made from dust and God’s very breath.
No shrub of the field had yet grown on the land, and no plant of the field had yet sprung, for the Lord God had not let it rain on the land, and there was no man to till the ground at the time the Lord God created the earth and the heavens. However, the mist would rise from the soil and cover the entire surface.
As a result, God imbued Adam with a portion of himself. He was distinct from the plants God had also created from dirt because he contained God’s breath of life.
Adam was also distinct from the animals because God never mentions the creation of the first animal in any detail.
Human creation is significant and distinct. Adam, unlike the rest of creation, was created with God’s breath and in His image.
How Was Eve Created
Following the creation of Adam, The Lord then established a garden in Eden with every tree that is pleasing to the eye and good for food, and he placed the man whom he had formed in this garden so that Adam might reside there and find nutrition.
There were numerous trees in the Garden of Eden, and Adam was urged to eat from every branch, save the so-called “tree of knowledge of good and evil.” “You shall surely die on the day you eat it,” God threatened.
All of Adam’s physical requirements would be supplied as long as he was content to dwell in a condition of permanent innocence. It was then up to Adam to choose a suitable name for each species that God handed to him. Adam welcomed and embraced all living creatures by naming the elements of creation and establishing their position in nature.
However, Adam was lonely. God noticed this and put Adam into a profound sleep. He then took one of Adam’s ribs and fashioned it into a lady, whom he named Eve. Adam was overjoyed with his new friend. They were both naked, but their innocence kept them from feeling shame or recognizing the difference between good and evil.
Why Were Adam and Eve Thrown Out of Eden?
However, a serpent soon appeared, slithering onto the scene. For God knows that on the day you eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, understanding good and evil, he sneakily revealed. Eve gave in to the serpent’s temptation. She ate from the tree and made sure Adam did too. They were kicked out of Paradise for this sin. Adam and Eve became aware of their nakedness after losing their former childish innocence. They married and became man and wife. Eve eventually gave birth to her first son, Cain.
